Every day around the world, many things are run over by cars, resulting in damages and tragedy alike. But, that which we run over the most, is what we least expect. The road cares for us, but we care little for it. It guides us to our destination safely. We fill it with holes and rarely think of it, when it exists only for us.

This depicted asphalt road is composed of precisely 6,035† acrylic dots of gravel, painstakingly hand painted and defined by artists Benjamin Steer & Matthew Turk of the Schneed Collective. To give the piece its downtrodden and sorrowful visage, the canvas was run down with a 2021 Honda Civic VTI-L. ⸸

“We get lost in our own ways of thinking, and fail to see that which is right beneath us.”

~ Benjamin Steer of the Schneed Collective
