Based on the controversial phrase, this piece embodies the impolite opinions commonly expressed by the general public, and the way this creates volatile situations in the workplace. Artists Benjamin Steer & Matthew Turk of the Schneed Collective were taken aback by the micro-aggressive encounters experienced in the modern age, and by what some are willing to do in order to gain even the smallest advantage over others. 

Fickle Pickle is the first time the Schneed Collective has delved into the form of Sound Art. Inspired by Matthew Turk’s experience working in the retail sector, the pair used a discarded iPhone to play a custom audio track, confronting listeners with the sounds endured by low income retail employees every day, on a loop.
